I like the idea of them. I dunno if I'd like them in reality.

0-45 takes like 30 seconds and 2 miles. |
I don't see that it's been re-geared for the 32's.

However, the fact that they weigh next to nothing and have almost no power make them almost indestructible. |

Somebody used to make a Buick v-6 swap kit too.

yeah, they are definitely a niche vehicle. I'd prolly loathe it on the road, but off the road it would be funz. However, for the money, you can get a much nicer REAL car.

Even with some power the thing is RIDICULOUSLY small and just not that well put together. The guy with the 4.3L had swapped in bucket seats from some Ford and they touched in the middle. The road noise is abhorrent. Basically if you just want the lightest, shortest wheelbase SUV you can get your hands on and you don't care about ANY other characteristic that most people consider desirable in a vehicle...that's when you get a Samurai. |
In stock form they will run forever and are quite capable off-road, believe it or not, but they are loud, stinky and rattle like a spray can. And once you start modding them they become money pits that will nickel and dime you to death. Their thirst for parts/mods will never be quenched.
If I had the money and time I'd put a VW 1.9TD engine in it and Land Cruiser axles under it. I have a love/hate relationship with mine. I'll never sell it, but I might push it off a cliff one day. :dunno |

the thing that puts a jeep's credibility in question is a redneck behind the wheel. NOT the part about him doing a wheelie and twisting the driveline into a pretzel. LOLOLOL |

That windscreen decal is quite appropriate...
